FAQ

What should I bring to my appointment? 1. Your document completed — do not sign or date it 2. A valid government-issued photo ID 3. Any witnesses required by the document 4. All individuals whose signatures need to be notarized, with a valid government-issued photo ID

Do I need witnesses for my document? Please review your document or confirm requirements with the document preparer or receiving agency before your appointment. If witness signature lines are included in your document, all required witnesses must be present with a valid government-issued photo ID. Witnesses must be at least 18 years old, impartial, not named in the document, and have no beneficial interest in the transaction.

What if I don't have an ID? Let us know before your appointment. Hawaii law allows for other methods of establishing your identity. We'll let you know what options may be available.

When is payment due? A payment link for the $50 travel retainer will be sent to you when your appointment request is received. The travel retainer is to confirm your appointment and will be applied to your estimated total, with the remaining balance due at the appointment.

What is your cancellation / no-show policy? The travel retainer is fully refundable if your appointment is cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable. A 15-minute grace period is provided. If your appointment has not started within that time, it will be considered a no-show, and the notary will leave the location. The travel retainer will be forfeited. Incomplete appointments due to a missing or invalid government-issued photo ID, absent required witnesses, or unavailable required signers will also result in forfeiture of the travel retainer. A new travel retainer is required to reschedule any cancelled, missed, or incomplete appointment.
